Benefits of Information Visualization
Plumb Design to Present at International Interaction Design Conference in Paris
New York, March 15, 2002 —Carsten Wierwille, VP Client Partner at Plumb Design, will present at Numer 02, an international conference for interaction design in Paris. The conference will be held at the Centre Pompidou in Paris from April 19 to April 21. Please visit to review the conference program.
Carsten will discuss practical applications and functionality of complex interfaces to data-driven applications summarized as "information spaces."
Over the last 10 years, artists, information designers, and software developers have experimented with 3D data representation techniques that offer increased scale, complexity, and interactivity. Most of these 3D data representations share attributes of both a functional and an artistic pursuit, a dichotomy not always satisfactorily reconciled. For which types of users, and in what context, can spatial data representations foster users' ability to search, retrieve, process, and interact with complex information?
